Research notes and partial draft of a projected history of women; largely written by Jean Jacques Rousseau ca. 1745-1749 for Louise Dupin, who funded the project and wrote portions of the draft. The material is arranged according to Anicet Sénéchal's 1963 bibliographical essay. Accompanying the original material by Rousseau and Dupin are transcriptions and commentary written by Leland Thielemann in the 1980s.
